Join me for an easy-going 30km ride along the coast on the north side of Dublin.

The meeting point is at the car park in front of Panorama Café in Portmarnock, beside Lidl. Heading north, we soon leave the main road. Take a left on Carrickhill Road, pass by the Portmarnock Sport and Leisure centre and take a right at the next T-Junction. We cycle to Malahide, passing through the lush vegetation of the park of Malahide Castle and the coast on Caves and Bissets Strand.

We head south onto the scenic Coast Road to Portmarnock and use the cycle lane to Baldoyle, taking a left to follow the coast and continue to Howth on the quiet Burrow Road.

After a coffee stop in Howth, we take a little detour to cycle on Greenfield Road and the coastal cycle lane beside the Dublin Road before finally taking a right and heading back to Portmarnock on Baldoyle Road and the cycle path along Baldoyle Bay.

The route can be pretty windy so bring proper clothing, including extra layers. The ride will take 2.30-3 hours and is suitable for all casual/leisure cyclists.
