To celebrate Bike Week, in conjunction with Louth Local Sports Partnership (LLSP), I am hosting a daily two hour Community Bike Ride along the Carlingford Lough Greenway that starts at 10am on each of Monday 16th May through to Friday 20th May 2022.
If you do not own or cannot transport your bike, no problem. LLSP are funding the rental of bikes during Bike Week from OnYerBike, based at the start of the Greenway at Carlingford Marina.
The route is all greenway (although there is a road section of approximately 300 metres) and follows the shoreline of Carlingford Lough to Omeath. It's easy riding and I am a local, so I can impart some interesting historical and local facts along the way.
All being equal, the ride will take around 40 minutes each way, so there is ample time to stop in Omeath for a coffee at Cafe Rosa!
Please click here to complete a self-assessment personal screening questionnaire in advance of your bike ride.
If you have a question for your ride leader in advance of the ride, please contact them through your dashboard, by clicking ‘ADD A DISCUSSION’ on this ride. Only the leader and those registered on this ride can view any questions/comments added through ‘VIEW DISCUSSION’ on their dashboard.
Note that insurance cover is only extended for the duration of the individual bike ride you have registered to complete.
I live in Carlingford and enjoy spins around the Cooley Mountains and Peninsula plus further afield. My wife and I run ‘OnYerBike’, a bike hire business on the Carlingford Lough Greenway. My biggest achievement in cycling was completing the Prudential Ride London 100 mile event in 2019 – a big challenge involving lots of training - but I prefer much shorter rides that always involve some coffee and cake!
