Circuit of Wexford Ride 1: Wexford to Kilmore Quay.

Today’s ride which is 57km starts in Ferrybank Swimming Pool Car Park and goes to Kilmore Quay through Tagoat.

We leave the car park and cross Wexford Bridge. At the lights we turn left and cycle down The Quay and out the Rosslare Road. There are two roundabouts in Drinagh and as we’re going straight, we stay in the left lane at both roundabouts.

We continue on the main road to Killinick, and Tagoat, and in Tagoat we turn right onto the R736. This road takes us to Tenacre Crossroads where we turn left and head south for Kilmore Village and Kilmore Quay.

We break for coffee in the Quay and then make the return trip home to Wexford on the R739 through Ballycogley. When we reach the main Rosslare Road in Ballykelly, we turn left and cycle back to Wexford through Drinagh, using the cycle lane when possible. We cycle up Wexford Quay and at the lights we stay in the right hand lane. Once the filter light is green, we turn right and enjoy the magnificent views of Wexford Harbour and the fishing boats. At the end of the bridge, we turn right and cycle up to the car park where we commenced today’s ride.

I live in Castlebridge in Co. Wexford and I am a keen leisure cyclist. I try to get out as often as possible and enjoy cycling mostly within my own locality. I would love to see more people out on their bikes, taking advantage of all the health and social benefits that cycling has to offer.
