Circuit of Wexford Town
Meet today at the entrance to the new County Hall, on the Inner Relief Road beside the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government, opposite Wexford General Hospital.
We leave the County Hall and go left at the second roundabout and cycle through Ballyboggan for a few kilometres. At the end of this small road, the road veers left. We go straight and continue over to the R730 where we stop. Then we go right and cycle up the road to Park and back into town through Carcur. At the Seamas Kelly Roundabout, we go straight and after a few minutes we arrive back in town. We pass the train station on the left. At the busy junction at the bridge, we move into the right hand lane and we stop at the traffic lights at the bridge.
Once the lights turn green, we continue straight down The Quay and cycle down the Rosslare Road using the cycle path when we can until we reach Kerlogue. At Kerlogue, we go right and stay on the Coolballow Road for a few kilometres. At the junction before the overpass we turn right up to Whiterock.
At the bottom of Whiterock Hill, we turn left at the roundabout and continue out towards Whitford on the R733. At the third roundabout (Turn for Woodies) we turn right and carry on down through Whitemill to the next left turn. We pass Viking Glass on the right, and we stop at the next T-Junction and then turn right. At the double roundabout in Clonard, we turn left and cycle as far as the traffic lights at Carrig Lawn. Here we stay in the left lane, and when the lights turn green we go straight across the road. We will then see the County Hall and the car park where we began our ride on the left, just after the hospital.

I live in Castlebridge in Co. Wexford and I am a keen leisure cyclist. I try to get out as often as possible and enjoy cycling mostly within my own locality. I would love to see more people out on their bikes, taking advantage of all the health and social benefits that cycling has to offer.
