Leave the car park and cycle onto the Sion Road. Continue on the Sion Road under the motorway bridge and past the turning for Dunbell. Take the right turn at Maddockstown. At the T-Junction turn right. At the next T-Junction, turn left and cycle over the motorway bridge, continuing straight at the crossroads. At the next T-Junction, turn right onto the R702 to Gowran. At the mini roundabout, take the second exit and continue to the T-Junction, turning right onto the R448. As you exit Gowran, cycle over the small bridge and take the right turn onto the Gowran to Bennettsbridge Road. Continue for 6.5km before taking a left turn for Tullaherin. At the crossroads at the Tullaherin Round Tower, turn right and take another right at the T-Junction. Enter Bennettsbridge and turn right onto the R700. Cycle over the bridge and take the next left onto the Annamult Road where we will stop for coffee at Nicholas Mosse Pottery. After our break, continue on Annamult Road for approximately 6km. At the T-Junction in Ennisnag, turn right onto the R713 towards Kilkenny. Cross over the motorway and continue on the N10 towards Kilkenny. At Danesfort, take a right turn onto Danesfort Road to Bennettsbridge. Take caution going down the hill towards the T-Junction where we turn left before taking a right turn onto the R700. Cycle over the bridge and turn left on the corner and continue right back into the car park where we started.

I have been a leisure cyclist for many years and have taken part in a number of sportives and helped others train in the weeks prior to the event.
