From Canal Square, we proceed to the Sion Road. We follow the Sion Road for 4km before turning left for Dunbell. At Connolly's pub, we take a right and after a further 1km we take a left fork. Eventually, we cross the main Bennettsbridge to Gowran Road and we take a rural road for approximately 3km before reaching Dungarvan Village. At Dungarvan, we take a left and proceed through a series of rural roads before finally reaching the main road to Graiguenamanagh. There we take a right and almost immediately take a left turn for Goresbridge. We follow this road for about 6km and arrive at the main road into Goresbridge where we will stop for coffee at the 'Goodly Barrow Mill', having completed 30km of our journey.

To return, we retrace our steps to Dungarvan Village where we take a left for Thomastown. After 1km, we take a right for Tullaherin Round Tower which we pass and make our way to the village of Bennettsbridge. There we can take a brief stop at 'Crafted' café. After that, we cross the Nore and make our way back to Kilkenny via Wallslough and Foulkstown. Our ride ends at the edge of the Waterford Roundabout.

This is a lovely route incorporating the rivers Nore and Barrow.

About

I am a leisure cyclist for many years. Over the last few years I have participated in many Community Bike Rides and like their camaraderie and ethos. I have completed the leaders course so that I can share that enjoyment with fellow leisure cyclists.
