Bike Week - Heads Up! (Dublin)

Luke Kelly's Head, Guild Street, Dublin 1
Group size
8 Participants
All Bikes

Meet at the Luke Kelly monument, for this relaxed spin following the Royal Canal towpath, via Croke Park, to the 12th lock and back via a short section of main road through Castleknock. Onwards to the Phoenix Park and the 'hole in the wall' for some light refreshment at DASH, before continuing on the cycle path passing Aras an Uachtaráin and Dublin Zoo, then hitting The Liffey quayside cycleway back to our start point. A mixed bag of greenways, cycle lanes, towpaths and main roads will require us to exercise caution and a notable dismount is required at CrossGuns Bridge to safely cross the road. Although it being a Sunday morning will mean those roads are quieter than usual!

Having endured the more challenging types of cycling; bike packing, road and mountain biking, over recent years – I’m still keen to share & enjoy the more leisurely spins too. All shapes ‘n’ sizes are welcome to join me on my easy going and sociable spins. Hope to see you soon!

Day two of #bikeweek2022 - A lovely relaxed spin “all along the banks of the Royal Canal”.  Nice to see so many out'n'about, walking, running, scooting &  cycling and a beautiful day for it too! Some photos on Instagram… https://www.instagram.com/p/Cdlea8TsGEK/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
