From Canal Square, we make our way to the Sion Road. After approximately 4km on Sion Road, we take a left for Dunbell. At Connolly's Pub, we take a left and after a further 3km, we go through a crossroads at the main Bennettsbridge-Gowran Road. After carefully crossing this busy road, we proceed on a quiet, country road for 3km until we reach the village of Dungarvan. We then take a left onto the busy Thomastown-Gowran Road. At this stage, we are about 5km from Gowran Park race course. We then make our way to Gowran Village and stop for coffee at Molly’s.

We will then proceed home via back roads past Blanchville house and we eventually reach Connollys of Dunbell. From there, we retrace our route via the Sion Road to the outskirts of Kilkenny City.

About

I am a keen cyclist, and since the first lockdown was lifted, I have enjoyed the leisurely spins with my local Community Bike Rides Group. I also enjoy cycle touring and have recently visited England and various European countries on my bike. I think cycling is the ideal way to experience the beauty of the landscape while keeping healthy and making friends.
