This cycle takes us past the historic Dunbrody Abbey built in the 13th century. The cycle starts and finishes in the town of New Ross. The route heads south out of town and onto the R733 to the Dunbrody Abbey. A little further (1.5 km) up the road, the route cuts back towards Campile and then turns east towards Rose Hall along the L4036. After Rose Hall, the route continues east on the R735 to Crossphilip. At the T-intersection, the route turns north (left) on the R736 to Ballinaboola. From there, the route continues north on the N25 back into New Ross. At the Ballymacar Roundabout, head straight over onto the R723, back into New Ross. At the final roundabout, make a right back to the Tesco parking lot.
The route has some moderate hills (418m of climbing), but we will always regroup at the top of each to ensure we stay together. Some of the roads are narrow, so we’ll be cycling in single file for most of the time. Whenever we can, we’ll cycle in pairs.
See MapMyRide link for complete navigational details. We’ll stop at Costa Coffee at the end of the cycle to grab a cuppa, relax and share.
Whilst this is a No-Drop-Ride, riders should be at a fitness level to maintain a 20km/ph pace on flat ground. No previous group riding experience required.

I’m originally from California and I’ve been cycling now for 45+ years. I have really enjoyed the countless adventures my bicycle has taken me on. I find cycling in a group enhances the experience, especially the camaraderie that typically takes place. As a group leader, my job is to ensure you enjoy yourself in a safe and controlled manner. I ensure the group stays together and that we set a pace and distance which everyone feels comfortable with. I hope you’ll join us!
