This is a scenic cycle along the River Barrow around the town of New Ross. The cycle stars in New Ross and then proceeds over O’Hanrahan Bridge. We cycle along the river using the R723 towards Forristalstown. From there, we cross under the N25 and head back to New Ross along country lanes, taking in the views. The route has some small to moderate hills (281m of climbing), but we will always regroup at the top of each to ensure we stay together. For the most part, there is ample space to cycle on the shoulder and once we are on the quiet country lanes, we may cycle in pairs.
See MapMyRide link for complete navigational details. We’ll stop at Costa Coffee at the end of the cycle to grab a cuppa, relax and share.
Whilst this is a No-Drop-Ride, riders should be at a fitness level to maintain a 16km / hour pace on flat ground. No previous group riding experience required.

I’m originally from California and I’ve been cycling now for 45+ years. I have really enjoyed the countless adventures my bicycle has taken me on. I find cycling in a group enhances the experience, especially the camaraderie that typically takes place. As a group leader, my job is to ensure you enjoy yourself in a safe and controlled manner. I ensure the group stays together and that we set a pace and distance which everyone feels comfortable with. I hope you’ll join us!
