From Canal Square, we head to the Sion Road via Kilkenny Ring Road. The Sion Road is a quiet road running alongside the River Nore. After approximately 4km, we take a left to Dunbell. At 'Connollys' pub, we take a right turn and make our way to a crossroads at the Bennettsbridge to Gowran Road.

The group go directly through this crossroads and after 3km on a road known locally as the 'Stoney Road', we arrive at the outskirts of Dungarvan Village. In the centre of the village, there is a left turn signed for Graiguenamanagh. We take this left turn and make our way past Bramblestown and after a right and left turn, we make our way past the Gowran Demesne.

Soon after this, we arrive at the top of Gowran Village. We then proceed to 'Molly's Tea Rooms' for refreshments. At this stage, we will have done about 28km of cycling.

Our journey back to Kilkenny takes us past Blanchville House and we again arrive at the crossroads at 'Connollys' pub from a different direction. From there, we retrace our steps via the Sion Road and finish up just before Kilkenny's Ring Road.
