We leave Canal Square via Canal Walk to Castle Road. We then join the Waterford Road via the Nuncio Road. The group then proceeds through two roundabouts to the main Waterford Road. There is a good hard shoulder for the first 5km. At the next roundabout, we join the Stoneyford country road for 4km until we reach the village.
Before we leave the village, there is a turn left to Norelands Stud. This is a scenic, country road with a few ups and downs. After around 5km, we turn left for Bennettsbridge at the gates for Ballylynch Stud. This quiet road takes us to the edge of Bennettsbridge, where we will stop for coffee at Nicholas Mosse pottery.
From there, we proceed back to Kilkenny City via the Sion Road which tracks alongside the River Nore for approximately 10km. Our cycle will end at the end of the Sion Road, just before we join the City Ring Road.
