Our meeting point is beside the blue gate, just inside the entrance to Forrest Little Golf Club - please don't block the vehicle entry/exit.

A quick gear & bike check before we hit the road, we head up Cooks Lane, left to the roundabout and then back on ourselves. This, the Naul Road, is a main road, busy with heavy vehicles for the few hundred metres we're on it, until we reach the often dusty Kilreesk Lane, which runs the length to the rear of Keelings fruit farms - as a result the occasional tractor may greet us around every bend with the associated clumps of mud on the road.

We make our way along cleaner lanes passing St. Margarets GAA, Rivermeade, Surgalstown & Kilsallaghan to Glebe & Ráth Lane, both of which require your attention. The first for loose gravel & chippings and the latter for a very broken up surface for the first half kilometre. Ráth Lane straddles the Dublin-Meath border and the site for the infamous superprison at Thornton Hall. We follow the Kilbride Road out to the old N2. Here we have a choice and depending on how the team is doing, we'll either head right a few hundred metres to 'The Donkey Shed' or left to 'Bradys' of Coolquay. After some refreshments, we take the left sharp turn to Kilcoskan - watch out for the awful 'temporary' patched up resurfaced roadway. A right at Kilcoskan brings us back down a quiet leafy lane towards Corrstown Golf Club. Take caution at the crossroads and continue straight through for Kilsallaghan and back on our return route home, via Kilreesk and the Naul Road.

The 3 hour duration includes a generous break for a cuppa and craic!
