Leaving Swords Fire Station at 10am and heading straight out the Balheary road towards Ballyboughal Airfield and Stephenstown, then The Five Roads and the start of Man o'War climb. Fear not, we scoot around it instead, saving our energy for the next hill, affectionately known as the Nag's Head. Halfway up, we turn right for a few gentle ups and downs to a T junction, where we turn left. 1km further on a right turn into a narrow lane, with a bit of a steep climb and grass running up the middle of it. There's two small friendly dogs who may give u a few barks of encouragement for the short steep climb, maybe even run alongside you, but fear not, that's as far as they've ever gone. A short descent with a badly broken up surface requires caution. Cover your brakes and be prepared as we will be stopping soon at McNallys Farm for the best coffee this side of the Rio Grande.

After a brief respite, we will take a more direct route back to our finish point via Ballyboughal, Roganstown and Balheary Avenue.
