This is a challenging ride by virtue of its distance but we will be moving at a pace to suit everyone. This ride is in conjunction with The Great Ireland Charity Cycle, which you can register for if you wish, but it is not a requirement of taking part.
We will set off from SuperValu car park on the Carlow road in Thomastown, heading to Dungarvan where we will take a right turn travelling on a quiet back road to loop into Gowran. Here we will take our coffee stop at Gowran race park, before heading towards Blanchville house and onto Connnolly's pub at Dumbbell. We will take a left and then a right turn to bring us into Bennettsbridge and onto Stoneyford through Ennisnag. From there, we will take the main road to Knocktopher, to bring us back to Thomastown. We can decide to make a second stop at Billy’s tearooms in Ballyhale if we wish, or we can come straight back to Thomastown. We can decide that on the day. This promises to be a fun adult day and worth the effort.

I am a cycling enthusiast and feel it is such a great way to exercise in a leisurely enjoyable pastime. Having experienced being a participant with our Kilkenny group, I felt it would be a great asset to have a local group in Thomastown, which is why I became a leader. I try to vary my rides distance and speed wise to accommodate everyone's level of fitness and bike confidence.
Brilliant 60km cycle today. We had all types of weather - sunshine, rain and wind, but all very enjoyable nonetheless with lots of chat along the way. Well done everyone and thank you for coming along.
