Wexford/Galbally/Taghmon. 48km.
We start this spin in Wexford and do a triangle of 48km going North West to Galbally, then South to Taghmon and finally East back to Wexford.
We meet in the car park of the Boat Club and cycle out through Carcur until we reach Ferrycarrig Bridge. Here we go left and then take the filter lane lane, to turn right over by The Heritage Park. After the Heritage Park, we cycle along by the river as far as the railway bridge at the acute turn right for Killurin. This is a dangerous junction as visibility around the corner is poor so extra care is necessary. It’s about 4/5km from here to Killurin on the R730.
We keep left at the pub in Killurin and stay on the R730. After about 6/8km, we reach a full crossroads and here we go left. This road takes us to the village of Galbally. In Galbally, we go straight until we reach Barmoney Crossroads, where we go straight. We then reach Borsilogue Cross and here we turn right and cycle into Adamstown. In Adamstown, we go left and a short distance outside of the village of Adamstown we turn left again. From here, we go under the N25 and into Taghmon where we will have our break.
After the break, we leave the village of Taghmon and cycle to Larkin’s Cross through Growtown. We use the underpass to get us across the main road and we then continue to The Heritage Park. At the junction on the main road after the Heritage Park, we use the left lane and turn left. Before Ferrycarrig Bridge, there is no filter lane, so we position ourselves on the right hand side of the road and using hand signals, we go right. This is a busy part of the road. We keep left under the railway bridge and continue on this road as far as Seamas Kelly Roundabout where we continue straight back into town. There are some potholes to watch out for on the concrete surface on this section of road.
After about 3km, The Boat Club Car Park will be on our left hand side just before Dunnes Stores.

I live in Castlebridge in Co. Wexford and I am a keen leisure cyclist. I try to get out as often as possible and enjoy cycling mostly within my own locality. I would love to see more people out on their bikes, taking advantage of all the health and social benefits that cycling has to offer.
